Gender issues are about how a young person may see themself as the opposite sex or the desire to be the opposite sex. Thus it is about the young person's own identity and how they want to be in the future.
Gender issues generally are not about sexual attraction or sexuality ( like homosexuality, gay, straight etc ) though these issues are important.
